Now, I … WebbI think that Rage of Dragons does something similar for people of African descent. Calling it a retread of European Fantasy seems a bit unfair to me. I agree with most of your criticisms and I think they're fair and well stated. I just wanted to share a different take on the book. I hate when a book is overhyped and dragged through the mud.

WebbI don't want to launch into a full review, but I just wanted to say that if anyone was intrigued by the book, they should DEFINITELY give it a chance. Other stray thoughts: If I HAVE to nitpick the book, there was a bit early on with an (offscreen) sexual assault and the entire incident seemed to only be there to generate tension among the male characters.
