LRA would be at least 8 times more. the explosion is not surprising. Its a 6 lead motor by the looks of it so that may half the amps per wire (guessing delta / Y multi voltage 4160/2300). Not gonna argue with that. I figured they were called that because the first thing you do when they quit is bang on it with something.
